America’s Most Smartest Model has given us one of the most sincere and beautiful relationships in reality TV history. Yes, we have watched Brett and Pickel fall into a bromance since Day One. They’ve paired up on almost every challenge and shared a mutual respect and concern for each other. They’ve even banded together with the once-hated Russian, Andre, and the beautiful Aussie, Rachael, to get the now-hated VJ out of the competition. This alliance of four is legendary in its own mind because VJ is much stronger than they are…because Mary Alice loves him…and not in the biblical sense.
For the edge challenge, the models paired up. VJ originally asked Andre to join him, but Andre declined. He hooked up with Aussie Rachael. VJ and Angela formed a sort of alliance and teamed up, leaving Pickel and Brett to work together…again. One half of the pair was to answer rapid-fire questions. The model who answered the most right would give their partner a lower speed level on the treadmill. Pickel answered 10 correct while Angela and Aussie Rachael answered 13. Brett started at level nine and quickly fell off the treadmill, leaving Andre to bring it on home for the alliance.
Unfortunately, VJ and Andre were evenly matched. They went at it for over an hour until Andre finally gave it up. He decided to conserve some of his energy for the next day’s challenge, or so he said. Mary Alice happily gave VJ and Angela the edge which was the ability to change near the runway during a fashion show. They also got to choose a third person to share the edge with. VJ didn’t like it, but chose Rachael anyway.
The remaining contestants – Brett, Pickel and Andre – would have to complete an obstacle course between each of their changes. This proved to be quite a disadvantage as each of these men wound up in the bottom three. Most improved was Angela who rocked the runway after spending extra time practicing the night before. She impressed the heck out of Mary Alice and spared herself from elimination.
Instead, it was Pickel’s turn to say good-bye. He and Brett shared a tearful good-bye that bordered on the embarrassing.
