Due to the success of NBC’s reality hit, Grease: You’re the One That I Want, the Broadway production the series is casting for has already sold $1.3 million worth of tickets. Considering the show doesn’t open on Broadway until July 24 – heck, it doesn’t even have a venue lined up yet – this is good news for producer David Ian, isn’t it?

The finalists for the roles of Sandy Dumbrowski and Danny Zucco were chosen this past week. They are:

• Allie Schultz – a 19 year old from Nashville, Tennessee. She moved to New York a year ago to make her mark on Broadway and is an alum of the prestigious Interlochen Arts Academy.
• Laura Osnes - This Minneapolis, Minnesota native is 20 years old and an actress who has already played the part of Sandy onstage.
• Ashley Spencer – She’s a seasoned performer at the ripe old age of  21. This beauty from  Massillon, Ohio wanted to be a prima ballerina until a toe injury caused her to change her plans.
• Kate Rockwell – a 22 year old gal from Cincinnati, Ohio who is working in the food industry until she catches her ‘big break’. Kate, who used to be shy and introverted, says theater really helped her come out of her shell.
• Juliana Hansen – this sexy, 23 year old lass had laser eye surgery to correct a vision problem a few years back. She’s also a rocker chick who spent the last few years performing as “East Coast Patti” in a Bruce Springsteen tribute band.
• Kathleen Monteleone – Born in Germany, this arts and crafts teacher, aged 23, moved to Oregon when she was a small child. She is also the only married Greaser.
• Max Crumm – This free-spirit, who reminds me of a young Nicolas Cage – c’mon, tell me you don’t see it – is nicknamed “Slacker Danny” because of his long locks and laid-back attitude. However, this 21 year old is super serious about his love for musical theater.
• Kevin Greene - a 22 year old native New Yorker, Kevin loves his family and the Yankees. He currently works as a bellhop in Manhattan.
• Derek Keeling – When he moved to New York from his hometown of Charleston, WV three years ago, this 26 year old dude couldn’t afford furniture.
• Chad Doreck – At the ripe old age of 27, Chad boasts a career in entertainment that’s over 20 years old. His first gig was in Oingo-Boingo’s Weird Science video, opposite Kelly LeBrock. 
• Austin Miller – If Austin looks familiar to you, don’t be surprised. This triple-threat – actor, singer and dancer – had a recurring role on Days of Our Lives. The hunk, aged 30, is aptly referred to in the competition as “Hot Danny.”
• Jason Celaya – This 31 year old dance instructor travels the country teaching other how to get their groove on. He’s done summer stock at Robert Redford’s Sundance Theater in Utah as well.
