Mark Burnett won’t let a little thing like plummeting ratings get him down. Oh no! The highly successful, reality TV producer has vowed to take the series to another network if NBC cancels it. As Burnett told the New York Post, "If you think I'm going to let 'The Apprentice' end, even if it's not on NBC, that's not going to happen. [Show host] Donald Trump is too big of a name. If you look honestly at the numbers, even on a Sunday, with all sorts of [programming] disadvantages . . . we're still beating 'The Black Donnellys,' 'Studio 60' and 'Friday Night Lights.'”
The series currently ranks 101st in the 2006-2007 ratings list. Burnett has said that NBC hasn’t let him know whether they will keep the series going or not.
On Sunday, The Apprentice, which moved to from Manhattan to Los Angeles for its sixth season, crowned a winner. Trump hired Stefani Schaeffer, a 32 year old attorney from California, in front of a massive crowd at the famed Hollywood Bowl. Stefani was given the choice to work on Trump’s new resort development in the Caribbean or a condo project in Atlanta. She wisely chose the Caribbean.
