So, this week, Tiffany Pollard, aka New York, actually did the honorable thing and chose Patrick Hunter (Tango), the rapper/music mogul. She went with what her heart needed and not what it wanted, i.e., Chance. The finale was certainly high drama. It seemed like NY wanted Chance all the way through the competition despite his volatility and the fact that her mama hated his guts. I mean the women offered him $10k to take his skinny ass home.
But, is it real love or just reality TV?
Well, Patrick did get down on bended knee and proposed to his whacked-out lady love. She said yes despite being scared to death about the prospect of marriage. Back in February, New York did tell the New York Post that she would consider marrying the man she chose, but not “until I’m a lot older and grayer.”
The couple has kept the flames of passion burning since the series ended by sending each other sexy cell phone conversations and sending “dirty pictures.” Patrick also mentioned to the NY Post the day after the finale aired that he’s “considering moving from his home in Tampa, Fla. to be with New York in Los Angeles.”
Hunter talked to Vh-1 as well and said that it was New York’s passion that he first noticed. As he said, “When she's into something, she's really into something. She's dedicated and I respect that.”He admits that the marriage proposal was more of a promise to “work towards” something and says that their feelings for each other are “genuine.”
Just how genuine remains to be seen. Viewers can get a chance to see the couple together on the I Love New York reunion show, which airs on February 15th right before the debut of another Flavor of Love spin-off, CharmSchool. Joining New York and Tango are Chance and the rest of the crew who competed for Pollard’s heart on the series.
Should be interesting!
