On December 11, 2006 Nicole Richie was arrested under suspicion of DUI after driving the wrong way on a freeway. The 25-year-old co-star of E!’s reality sensation, The Simple Life, pleased not guilty to the charges brought against her. Her attorney, as is proper, appeared in Los Angeles to address the court.

A pretrial hearing was set for April 2, 2007.

If convicted, Richie faces up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine. She has a previous DUI conviction on her record.
