Earlier this month it was announced that Jerry Springer, talk show host and ‘dancer’, would replace Regis Philbin as host of America’s Got Talent. According to Craig Plestis, Senior Vice President, Alternative Programming, Development and Specials, NBC Entertainment, "Jerry Springer is the perfect ringmaster to harness all the incredibly diverse talent of 'America's Got Talent' under one big tent. To say the least, he is known for presiding over an unpredictable show where the unexpected is the typical order of each day."
The series, which is produced by none other than American Idol’s Simon Cowell, is heading to Dallas, TX on March 31st. The northern Texas city has been added to its roster of audition cities. (If you want info on how to audition for America’s Got Talent, head on over to the NBC home page for the series HERE!) Springer, a former mayor of Cincinnati, will be there to meet and greet the talent.
Contestants who are planning to head out to the Hilton Dallas Lincoln Centre at 5410 LBJ Freeway can be of any age. However, children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. All contestants need to bring a valid photo ID such as a driver’s license. They must be legal U.S. citizens or be permanent legal residents (or possess an employment visa) and arrive at the audition in costume. (Check out the press release if you don’t believe us.)
America’s Got Talent is expected to head back to the airwaves this summer.
