Many of us watched the Pussycat Dolls Present the Search for the Next Doll. A lot of us were upset that Asia Nitollano won. Some folks didn’t think she was the most talented singer. Many wanted Melissa R. or Chelsea to win instead. However, the fact remained that Robin, Lil’ Kim, Ron Fair and the Dolls thought Asia would be the best addition to their team.
Or did they?
Asia hadn’t performed with the Dolls and, well, frankly, no one heard anything from her or about her for months. So, it was not really a major surprise late last week when Dawn Ostroff, CW’s head of programming, announced that Asia decided to do a solo career instead. It was also noted that Asia made the decision entirely on her own.
Next season, Robin and PCD will return to CW’s airwaves. However, they’re “not putting another girl into the Pussycat Dolls.” Instead, Robin is working to create a new group. The all-girl trio will be named Girlicious. Auditions have already begun. Applications are still being accepted. Click HERE for more information.
