On April 11, 2007 Shear Genius will premiere on Bravo TV at 11 pm ET. It follows the season finale of Top Design. On April 18th, the series will move to its regular 10 pm time-slot. Shear Genius pits 12 hairstylists against each other to see who can create the “most fashionable coiffure.”
Former Charlie’s Angel Jaclyn Smith hosts the competition and is joined by “salon manager,” Rene Fris and judges Sally Hershberger (celebrity hairstylist) and Michael Carl (Allure magazine’s fashion director). Guest judges include Jose Eber, Ken Paves and Frederick Fekkai.
The winner of the competition will receive $100,000 in “seed money from Nexxus and a chance to style hair for an Allure magazine feature."

Each week, the contestants will face off in two challenges, one of which will feature an elimination. There will be a total of eight episodes of the series.
