Nicole Richie won’t be following in her Simple Life co-star’s footsteps. At least not yet. The lovely lass, who has made headlines recently for her pregnancy (sources say she’s about 12 weeks along with beau Joel Madden’s wee one), has received a postponement in her DUI trial. She will not head to court until August 16.

On Wednesday July 11, 2007, Nicole’s attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, asked for the postponement so that Dr. Terence Sean McGee can “testify about tests and conclusions by drug experts used by prosecutors.” He will be unavailable to appear in court until next month.

Nicole was not present in the courtroom at the time, nor was she expected to be there.
