I'm not sure who Piers Morgan thinks he is, but he is no Simon Cowell. The America's Got Talent judge made all the little girls cry on this week's episode. I understand that he feels like he's got to be outrageous to make an impression, but...why pick on underage girls? It's just inhuman. Even Simon Cowell wouldn't be so rude.
Fellow judge Sharon Osbourne got upset at her compatriot. She stormed off the set at one point due to Piers' rudeness and apparent lack of regard for the feelings of children. As a mom myself, I am grateful that Sharon stood up to his arrogance, but I'm not sure how much of an effect it's going to have. Piers seemed put off by Sharon's 'lack of professionalism.' (Yeah, he would know "PROFESSIONAL" if it bit him on the you-know-where, right?)
You've got to worry when when The Hoff, who recently made headlines for his inebriated burger eating video tape, is the voice of reason on a TV show, don't you? Personally, I am not sure I enjoyed this American Idol wannabe series that is part gong show and all full of itself. I didn't watch last season, but...thought I'd give it a shot. I had nothing better to do considering my family is confined to one room due to some crappy home renovations we've got going on. (That's why I've been sporadically posting as of late. Sorry!)
However, next time I'd rather walk barefoot through my nail-infested living room than watch this senseless drivel. There weren't even any talented folks to make me say "Mmmm-kay. This is worth a second look."
If this is what passes for "talent" in America, then we're in big trouble as a nation. What do you think?
