The Amazing Race’s All Star season is almost through, everyone. The final three teams are Dustin & Kandice, Eric & Danielle and—surprise—Charla & Mirna. Each of these teams deserves to be in the finale. They’ve run very good yet very different races.

For example, Dustin & Kandice, the beauty queens, have done some people dirty. They’ve yielded Eric & Danielle twice. Well, the second time they paid Oswald & Danny to do it. They’ve argued with Charla & Mirna and Eric & Danielle...and surprised everyone.

In fact, all three of these teams have been among the most aggressive and vocal in the entire competition which is really funny considering Rob & Amber Mariano were also All-Stars.

Dustin & Kandice have played very smart. They have come in first more times than their other competitors and won the most ‘toys’ as host Phil Keoghan noted in this week’s episode. They’ve used their beauty, their brawn and their intellects. They’ve given their heart and souls to this race, and whether you like them or not (I personally don’t like the way they come across on the show sometimes, but…) they’re in it to win it. They probably will, which is kinda cool ‘cuz that’ll make them the first all-girl team to win TAR. Girl power!

Eric & Danielle have whined a lot—mostly Danielle. However, they’ve done well for themselves. Dani cries almost every episode. She’s frustrated about the traveling. She gets annoyed when other teams don’t “do her right.” Eric & Danielle have been yielded as was mentioned before, but it’s part of the game. It’s not an indictment against them. Honestly, it’s a compliment. People perceive them as strong.  They got so mad at Danny & Oswald for yielding them that it put me off. Get over it. Dani also needs to learn that when she’s on standby for a flight and can’t get on, it’s not personal. Airlines upset just about everyone, girl. They don’t care if you’re in a race.

Having said that, I do believe that they’ve come into this game at a serious disadvantage. They’re dating and trying to discover what their relationship will grow into. It’s hard to be under this much pressure with some dude or gal you’re just dating. They also did NOT run the race together before. During their season, they were each with other partners. To overcome this challenge and do so well is a significant accomplishment.

Now for Charla & Mirna. Charla, of course, has a physical challenge. As a little person, some of the Roadblocks and Detours have been especially difficult for her, but she’s done them all with grace and a bit of humor. She’s such a sweetheart most of the time. Yes, Mirna can be abrasive and annoying—and the way she yells at Charla is upsetting, but I’m not sure how nice I’d be if I traveled all over the world like they’re doing. Honestly, the cousins try to make good decisions and often succeed. They’re working their brains the most. They’ve surprised people with their spunk, their intelligence and their diligence including me. Charla & Mirna have used the internet to research flights ahead of time with great results.

Honestly, I can see any of these teams winning the whole thing, but my sentimental favorite is Charla & Mirna. It would just be an “amazing” ending to the Race, don’t you think?
