Eric Sanchez and Danielle Turner finished first only once in the final leg of The Amazing Race All Stars’ edition. The couple, who had not raced together before, won the $1 million grand prize. Danielle and Eric met on the ninth season. He raced with his pal, Jeremy (and made it to second place). She was on a team with her friend Dani (they came in sixth).

Apparently, there was an immediate spark between the two. As Danielle says, “When me and Dani were actually just auditioning [for The Amazing Race 9], we actually saw Jeremy and Eric in California for the audition and we were like, a little bit flirty.  So we knew something was going to happen, of course, on the show because we did a lot of flirting.”

During the show, they’d continue to flirt during their downtime. After the Race finished, Eric started calling Danielle. The Miami-based waiter even “moved up to New York this [past] summer to try-out how it would be.  And you know, actually, we did pretty well but it was just too much too soon.” They went on The Race together to see if they could make it together as a couple, but discovered it wasn’t meant to be.

Their still good friends and have decided to split the money. Eric has moved on and is already in a “new relationship.” They now realize that “it's not the best place to test your relationship on 'The Amazing Race.'"
