According to sources, Jennifer Hudson is going to marry her long-time love, maintenance engineer, James Peyton, this spring. The couple has been together for eight years. The Dreamgirls diva, who won an Oscar and Golden Globe this year, had “promised him they would get married as soon as she got her singing career off the ground.”

Jennifer, who is rumored to be up for the lead in the musical inspired by Aretha: From These Roots, a 1999 book about the legendary queen of soul’s life, times and music, is quite busy these days. She’s working on her first album and filming a flick called “Winged Creatures.” However, she insists that James has nothing to worry about. He is the one for her because he makes her feel secure, and besides, “why would I pick somebody new when it’s like, ‘You don’t know me. You just see the Jennifer Hudson that’s in ‘Dreamgirls’ or the Jennifer Hudson from ‘American Idol.’”
