Back in December 2006 Nicole Richie was arrested on suspicion of DUI. The Simple Life diva was spotted driving the wrong way in her SUV on the 134 Freeway in Burbank, CA. Lionel Richie’s adopted daughter admitted to the cops that she has smoked pot and taken Vicodin.

Recently, Nicole headed to the H-wood hotspot, Mr. Chow’s, to share some food and girl talk with Paris Hilton. Paris was seen comforting a distraught Nicole who, according to a source, is terrified of going to jail if she’s convicted.  

Nicole will have decent legal representation, however. Her lawyer, Howard Weitzman, also helped Paris through her own recent DUI problems.

Of course, Nicole might have some happier news in her life soon.  She and Joel Madden, vocalist for the rock group Good Charlotte, are seriously in love and rumored to be moving in together soon. Madden previously dated Disney diva Hilary Duff.
