The gossip sites were all a-tizzy earlier this week with the news that Nicole Richie split up with her beau of several months, Good Charlotte mate, Joel Madden. Apparently, Hilary Duff’s ex felt that Nic was "too clingy." Apparently, the couple, who was supposedly engaged at one point, broke up while Down Under for the MTV Australia Video Music Awards.

However, the latest Nicole news blows that little tidbit out of the water. The Simple Life starlet, who’s been MIA as of late, is allegedly in rehab. Yuppers! Media outlets say that she checked into the Beau Monde Treatment Center in Corona Del Mar, California on May 11^th. She’s there dealing with an addiction to pills and her ongoing battle with anorexia. She was reportedly only 83 lbs. when she began treatment.
