Peeler Delivers Some Bad News to the Crew (Credit: Bravo TV)
Last Tuesday, Bravo aired their ‘dedication to Doug’ episode. Now, I’ve spoken about this, probably ad nauseum to some. I, like many of you, felt drawn to Doug. He seemed like such a genuine and amazing individual. That’s rare. I’m grateful that the series featured him for the brief time that they did. I guess I just wanted more, but that’s not what the show is about. It’s Jackie’s show ultimately. Anyway, Doug is someone that continues to touch the lives of others. It’s obvious by reading most of your comments.
However, regardless of how the show portrayed Doug’s life or death, and whether we, the viewers, agree with it or not, the network is not above using either to get ratings. (Big surprise, right?)
On Wednesday, they inked a press release stating that:
“Bravo's docu-series "Work Out" original 10 p.m. ET/PT episode last night delivered 962,000 million total viewers and a series high of 731,000 18-49 viewers (5/1/07), according to Nielsen Media Research. The emotional episode, which dealt with the passing of trainer Doug Blasdell and Sky Sport owner Jackie Warner's struggle with her father's suicide, also made Bravo the #2 cable network in its time slot among women 18-49 (541,000).”
This week, Work Out ends its second season. The finale will showcase how Jackie and her crew honor Doug.
Work Out has created such buzz this season that Bravo will also have a reunion special with Andy Cohen, Bravo's Senior VP of Producton and Programming serving as host. It'll feature Jackie, Zen, Andre, Gregg, Rebecca and Erika in special interview segments. That will air on Tuesday May 15th at 10 pm ET/PT.
