Lavell Crawford is a mountainous man. He’s a great big ole teddy bear who makes you laugh. He also makes himself laugh. His laugh and personality are just infectious. Lavell’s been one to watch throughout this season of Last Comic Standing. He’s been a fan favorite from the beginning even winning extra cash to show for it.
Lavell is also respected and feared by his fellow comedians. He can come up with a one-liner on the spur of the moment, as proved on last night’s episode. He was given a huge trophy to celebrate that skill. However, Lavell has also mastered the callback. A callback refers to a joke previously told. Usually, it’s one that the comedian has previously told earlier in a set. Lavell is so good, people, he can callback from using other folks’ material.
Now, that’s a skill that only the best and brightest comedians have.
Lavell is a gifted comedian and a great spirit. He is not afraid to poke fun at himself. In fact, most of his act is directed towards his girth. He doesn’t do the standard fat jokes, however. Lavell is truly a comedic artiste. We’ve enjoyed watching him the season and feel bad that Jon Reep, who’s a brilliant comedian in his own right, has to face him in next week’s finale. We think Lavell is a shoo-in to win.
