The Amazing Race All-Star season begins tonight. Teams like Jill and Jon Vito, Rob and Amber, and Joyce and Uchenna - the seventh season champs - are making a return to the world stage. Phil Keoghan will be back as the host with the most. The rules are pretty much the same. There’ll be Detours and Roadblocks and so forth.
However, there will be one major difference this All-Star season (beside the fact that all teams have run this Race before). After a team is told by Phil, “I’m sorry to tell you … you’ve been eliminated from The Amazing Race,” they’ll discover that the Race is not yet over. They will head to a sequester house where they’ll still have to contend with the cameras.
The Amazing Race is launching a new, web-based series to go along with the television show. It’s called Elimination Station. Viewers can log onto http://www.cbs.com/innertube/ and get a free all-access pass to see what happens after the contestants are through racing. At the sequester shack, we can see how they cope with, according to the official press release, the “disappointment of being eliminated while living alongside their fellow eliminated All-Stars.”
The series will air immediately after the West Coast broadcasts The Amazing Race each week. Therefore, the first episode of Elimination Station begins tonight at 9pm PT – that’s midnight for those of y’all on the East Coast.
