America’s Got Talent is returning to the air waves starting Tuesday, May 29 from 9-11 pm ET. Jerry Springer will be the new host. He, of course, replaces Regis Philbin who cited the show’s hectic travel schedule for the reason behind his decision not to return.
This week NBC announced that Sharon Osbourne will join judges David Hasselhoff and Piers Morgan. She takes the chair held by Brandy Norwood. Norwood was the cause of a four-car accident in Los Angeles last December which claimed the life of Awatef Aboudihaj.
The announcement was made by Craig Plestis, Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming, Development and Specials, NBC Entertainment.
"Sharon Osbourne is show business personified and she has seen and done it all," said Plestis. "She will make an excellent fit with David and Piers, who we're delighted to have back for another great season."
America’s Got Talent airs on NBC. Simon Cowell is an executive producer. He and Sharon have worked together before, on the UK’s smash-hit, The X-Factor.
