CBS has cancelled its cop celebreality drama Armed & Famous after only four episodes. Apparently the execs at the network didn’t feel that the show performed well enough against American Idol. If they were looking to overtake American Idol, A&F was not the show to do it.
However, many people thought the show had its high points, especially the citizens of Muncie, Indiana where the show was filmed. The mayor of Muncie actually watched A&F and switched over to AI only during the commercials. Now that’s dedication!
Vh-1, the network that loves to put pseudo-celebs on the air, has come to the show’s rescue. They will begin airing Armed & Famous on February 3rd. There will be a five-hour marathon block of programming beginning at 5pm EST on that Saturday. This includes the first four episodes that CBS has already aired with a new episode premiering at 9pm. They will also broadcast reruns on February 7th.
After that, no one is really sure. When CBS pulled the plug on the show, only five episodes had been completed. A total of seven had been planned. A Vh-1 spokersperson had this to say by means of clarification, "If the producers deliver to us the sixth and seventh episodes of the show, then we will air them. As of now, it's unclear whether they are finishing them or not."
Got that?
