The Bachelor is returning for a tenth season. On April 2nd, the series will air on Mondays (after Dancing with the Stars) at 9:30 ET. This installment has been dubbed "An Officer and A Gentleman". Why? Lt. Andy Baldwin, a 30 year old Navy medical officer and triathlete, is the new bachelor.
Andy was a high school valedictorian and a competitive swimmer. In 1995, he was voted ESPN’s National Scholar Athlete of the Year. He worked three jobs and received ROTC benefits to attend Duke University where he earned a degree in biology with a concentration in genetics. From there, he went to the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine and interned at Naval Hospital in San Diego.
According to the New York Daily News, the series is being filmed at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel. Baldwin, who’s never been married, told the Honolulu Advertiser – the lieutenant is currently stationed in Hawaii - that he’s “ready to fall in love with the woman of my dreams and eventually start a big family. I may be old-fashioned, but I believe in true love, and I know she's out there. And I know I'm going to find her."
As we all know, the most innocent and old-fashioned way to meet a lady is on reality TV.
