America’s Most Smartest Model is one cruel competition. Mary Alice Stephenson and Ben Stein are cold-hearted, y’all. They ditched Rachel Myers before elimination because she wasn’t ‘smart enough or a model enough.’ Ouch! We’re not saying we disagree with them, but…they didn’t have to be so callous about it.

Sure, the modeling industry is tough. We get that, but that doesn’t give folks the right to smash someone’s self esteem. The poor girl was crushed.

Well, enough of our pontificating. We’ll get back to the recap. The models faced Santino Rice, a favorite of Project Runway’s second season, in the edge challenge. Santino determined that a killer outfit could be created from six shapes. The models paired up. Rachel talked Daniel, arguably the smartest guy in the competition, into working with her. He decided to help her out but regretted that decision when she couldn’t even cut one shape out in her allotted time.

Brett and Pickel, who have bonded quite a bit over the course of the competition, won the edge challenge. They completed their shapes correctly first…barely beating out VJ & Aussie Rachel to get there. As a result, they got to use all six shapes in their design. They also received half an hour of help from Santino which proved invaluable…AND the opportunity to make or break their opponents by choosing which and how many shapes they could use in their designs.

Because they felt sorry for Blonde Rachel (or figured she and Daniel had no chance of beating them in the callback) they gave that team three shapes to work with. Andre & Angela got two. VJ & Aussie Rachel got one – a circle. They created some weird bra top evening gown that looked like a ‘mermaid wearing a kitchen floor’. It did not score high. In fact, VJ & Aussie Rachel, along with Daniel, landed in the bottom three.

Mary Alice and Ben put the fear of god into these three. In the end, they let no one else go. Rachel Myers was gone – they sent her packing as we mentioned earlier. They did warn the remaining models to step up their game because it’s about to get ugly up in here.
