Bianca didn't stand out (Credit: CW TV)
The four remaining girls traveled from Shanghai to Beijing and got settled into their new digs after seeing a lovely representation of four legendary beauties in Chinese history. Once at their new temporary home, they found a note from Tyra about visiting “The Great Mall.” Then, they saw the four beauties’ dresses. Each girl picked one and put it on for the challenge the following day.
Greeting the ladies were Twiggy, Miss Jay Alexander and Seventeen mag’s Anne Choquette. The girls were given 1500 RMB (Chinese yuan), or about $200. They had an hour to shop in this seriously large mall and pick out accessories to contemporize their looks. Jenah, who was having a difficult time with homesickness and the competition in general, won the challenge despite Bianca’s ‘strategy’ to throw her off.
Jenah received a customized traditional Chinese dress for herself and a friend. She picked Chantal to go with. In addition, Jenah got some one-on-one tutelage from Miss Jay Alexander, the runway coach and diva extraordinaire. He tweaked her walk, giving her a major confidence boost.
For their shoot, the girls portrayed warriors attempting to conquer The Great Wall. Their photographer was none other than Miss Tyra Banks. Saleisha rocked it out. Bianca was a bit sullen. Chantal stepped up her game, but Jenah wasn’t so sure of who she even was.
This caused us to think that Jenah was getting the boot. However, again we were thrown for a loop. Miss Bianca was sent home because she needs more work than the competition can give her. Tyra told her to go home and practice and pose, pose, pose for friends, family and so forth. Then, take the snapshots and go and get a modeling contract.
Is that really how it works? Seems like a bit of a diss to us. What about you? Ya think Bianca will get to the top with Polaroids or digital snapshots from friends and family? Do you think she even has what it takes to get there?
