Larissa = The Face of Evil? (Credit: Vh1 Blog)
Mo’nique told the remaining ladies that this week’s lesson had to do with charity. The women were supposed to give the clothes off their back—well, the ones in their suitcases—to charity. The winning team, aka the one who donated the most dollar-wise, would be safe from elimination. The remainder of the teams would be in danger of getting sent home. Mo told the gals to choose their teammates wisely.
Larissa and Shay hooked up, naturally. They decided to donate their Seven and True Religion jeans and other name-brand gear. They got a bit upset when the folks at the thrift shop didn’t wanna give them ‘full value’ for their $200 jeans.
Schatar asked Darra to partner up with her. Darra was like, “Hell yeah.” Schatar was going to donate some of her ‘couture’ gowns. Unfortunately polyester isn’t considered a couture fabric and her nastily-stained, skank wear netted the duo zero dollars. Darra gave what she felt she could and tried to bargain with the dudes at the store to up the prices on her stuff. I was so unimpressed with that move. Apparently, these ladies don’t understand the meaning of charity.
Yeah, like that was a big surprise for the viewer, right?
But wait…we had Saaphyri and Becky. Saaphyri gave all her clothes away. She felt like her stuff wasn’t going to make much so she decided that volume was better than quality. Unfortunately, she had a tantrum in the thrift shop because she felt that the employees were devaluing her life by devaluing her clothing. In the end, she pulled through and helped out her team. She and Becky bonded big-time, and well, I was proud of her.
Finally, we had Leilene and Brooke. Leilene’s stripper gear didn’t go over very well at the store. She decided to sell her mother’s rings. Leilene’s mom died of cancer and it was all she had left of her, material-wise. Brooke told Leilene not to sell them that some things were more important than this competition. However, Leilene said she was fine. In fact, she felt free and happy to give away something to do good for someone else. Those rings put the ladies head and shoulders above the competition. They won the challenge and a shopping spree at Forever 21.
Why they chose to take Darra and Schatar along is beyond me. I would’ve thought they’d have given the opportunity to Saaphyri and Becky. Darra did offer to give Saaphyri some of her cast-offs. This ticked Saaphyri off big-time. The ladies went at it. Saaphyri felt that Darra was making her a charity case and couldn’t understand why Darra would let her have some of her stuff that she didn’t give away during the charity challenge.
I didn’t think Darra was being fake, but I guess I can see where Saaphyri is coming from. Saaphyri talked to Mo ‘bout the incident and told her that she feels very emotional about this whole thing. When he dad died, they [whoever they are] took all the family’s possessions so when she has stuff, she feels she’s got to fight for it. For Mo’, this totally explained the incident on Flavor of Love 2—when Saaphyri gave Hollywood a concussion over a bed.
Meanwhile, while the ladies were out on their shopping spree, Larissa and Shay came up with a plan to upset Leilene and hurt Schatar. Larissa hid Leilene’s mother’s picture under Schatar’s bed. When Leilene returned, she was so upset she couldn’t find the picture. Larissa urged her to check under Schatar’s bed, but no one seemed to recall that point when Schatar questioned what was going on.
Because Schatar has a history of thievery—remember she took Brooke’s and Heather’s gowns during an earlier episode this season—Mo had no real choice but to expel her and Darra.
Personally, I think Mo’ should’ve gone to the cameras. I mean it’s not like they ain’t filming these girls. An accusation of stealing is very serious and it should be treated with more seriousness than this. Schatar, for once, was right. She had nothing to do with it--of course, I'm glad her lying ass is gone.
However, I hope Larissa gets hers. However, she didn’t own up to what she did yet so I don’t think she’d even get the lesson if it was shoved down her smug little face.
