I Love New York 2 should be characterized as a comedy. The series is funny without trying to be, or so it seems. This week, New York asked the guys to cross a lake for her. At the end of their journey, she evaluated the gifts they brought, most of the time tossing their swag right back into the lake.
What a class act, right?
But, before we get to that…Midget Mac tells the guys he can’t swim. Uh-oh! When he arrives at the lake, you can see the fear in his eyes. He once watched a family member drown at a reunion. That’s some heavy trauma. However, the sweetheart dove in the water with his froggy float and flippers. (Say that three times fast.) Froggy float and flippers…
His flotation device popped mid-way across. New York asked for one of the guys to help him out. Buddha dove right in, impressing the heck out of New York and us not only with his kindness but his rippling muscles. He’s a fine specimen of manhood. We just wonder what he sees in New York.
Eventually, Mac arrives and gives New York his rather soaked, custom-made robe. She doesn’t toss it in the nasty lake and seems genuinely touched by the gift and his efforts.
Unsure gives her a Dolce & Gabbana jacket that doesn’t fit. Seems the jacket was originally meant for his sister, but she thought it was too flashy. New York, of course, adores it and says she can’t wait to get her tailor to work on it.
Tailor Made uses his cash to buy New York some seriously cute Manolos. She’s totally into them and gives Tailor Made a date along with Buddha. Midget Mac gets a solo trip with NY. During that date, New York admits to the cameras that she really is starting to have feelings for the dude. After all, he loves ranch dressing almost as much as she does and we quote Miss NY, “Any man that loves ranch as much as I do is close to my heart.” At the end of the evening, she doesn’t kiss him. She admits in a diary segment that she has an issue with that because he’s the size of a ‘toddler.’
Ouch!
Back in the house, several guys confront New York about Unsure’s gift. New York decides to call the boy out on it. He admits the jacket was for his sis. This upsets her greatly. Knockout then takes Unsure’s side and gets into it with Cheezy about being a ‘snitch.’
The next day, we see Tailor Made get ready for his double date with New York by wearing a face mask that makes him look like the dude from the Halloween flicks. How attractive. New York takes Tailor Made and Buddha to a go-kart race track. The winner gets extra one-on-one time with her. Buddha edges Tailor Made out on a turn and wins the race, which pisses Tailor Made off a lot.
Tailor Made has also ordered roses for the lady. While he’s out on his date, they show up at the house. It claims them for himself and tells NY he got them. When asked how by the other guys, he makes some ridiculous story up about actor Lawrence Fishburne hooking him up. Considering It doesn’t know the address of the house, the story just makes no sense.
Anyway, Tailor Made doesn’t confront him until the elimination ceremony. Perhaps, he was too concerned with the fact that New York discovered he was still married. Yes, Tailor Made has a daughter from a previous relationship and a wife. Sure, they’re legally separated, but…New York is very upset about this. Eventually, she chats with Nancy, his still-wife, but she tells New York that she doesn’t want the workaholic back.
In the end, New York clips Yours for being a lazy SOB and giving her a picture that made her look like Nell Carter. She ditches Knockout for being too confrontational which is hysterical – and hypocritical. Unsure asked to go home the day before over the D&G jacket. However, he did show up at the elimination ceremony which caused New York to pitch a fit and toss his jacket in his face.
Sister Patterson is pissed that another of her mama’s boys gets sent home. She’s also angry that It remained after lying about the roses, but she didn’t seem too upset that Tailor Made, another of her ‘boys’ is still hitched. Go figure!
