Joe Don is set adrift with a memorable kiss (Credit: CBS)
When Joe Don was captain, I admit it – I hated how he ran the ship. He was greedy and far too dependent upon his officers to do his dirty work. He also kept himself separate from the crew and used a scab, Jay, to spy for him. He even paid Jay off to do the deed.
Instead of breeding good will with Jay, this move might have cost him the game. Jay hated Joe Don for reasons I’m not entirely sure. Perhaps, it’s because the firefighter is strong. (He’s good-looking too, but I don’t think Jay cares a whit about that.)
As soon as possible, the dissatisfied crew, with Jay’s help, overthrew Joe Don’s regime. Azmyth, in-between a brief stint by Louie, has been captain ever since. The second time around, the Azman, who has adopted some weird British/French/Spanish type accent, went ahead and chose Jay and Ben as his officers. Jupiter is their cook and cohort. She receives some of the cash so she will not agree to a mutiny with the rest of the crew. Per the rules, the entire crew must vote out the captain and his officers so you know it ain’t ever gonna happen.
Azmyth’s rule started off as all fun and games. Then, it got real serious. Ben, Azmyth and Jay have formed ‘the triad’. They plan to go all the way together and pick the crew off one by one. This week’s target was Joe Don. As the former captain and the strongest man left on the red team, he was the biggest threat to their dominion. This week the red team narrowly missed winning the challenge against the black. A win would’ve overthrown ‘the triad’ and paved the way for a new day.
Not so. Joe Don, who bought the Royal Pardon from Nessa, his lady love, had to give it back so he was vulnerable. (They’ve been swapping it back and forth like the spittle they share each time they make out.) Azmyth and his officers chose Louie, Joe Don and Nessa as the pirates up for elimination. Nessa purchased the Royal Pardon back unnecessarily. Louie made a plea to his ‘ladies’. He’s been a father figure to them all and asked them to keep him onboard.
The gals sided with Louie despite the fact that Joe Don was their best hope to change the status quo. The hunky fireman was cut adrift but not before giving Nessa a kiss that made me look at my husband and say, “Hey, how come you never kiss me like that?”
