We’d like to say that the action is heating up on Survivor: China, but right now it’s really not. There’s some drama. The challenges are grueling, but…it’s not that exciting yet. We know, we know – it’s a new season.
At Fei Long, we see trouble in this hizzouse. Poker pro Jean-Robert, who’s already been under fire for being lazy, is making no friends except for gravedigger James. He skeeves out the ladies by basically man-handling them at night for warmth. Leslie and Courtney seem to like him the least, which is fine by Jean-Robert. He thinks they’re the weakest links.
Leslie comes under question by her tribe after being kidnapped by the other tribe. Jamie wanted to see if Leslie would give her the immunity idol clue, which she did. Leslie also made the mistake of admitting to Fei Long that she liked the vibe better over there and got along with the ‘enemy’. This caused concern among her tribe as they’re thinking ahead to the ‘merge’ and the ties that Leslie might’ve made.
It’s this concern that keeps Jean-Robert in the competition. Todd and the ladies really want him gone. However, he’s a strong man and does well in the competitions. This week, however, Fei Long lost both the reward and immunity challenges, having to send home one of their own for the first time. Courtney was concerned about her standing in the tribe especially after hearing Jean-Robert and James loudly calling her out as such.
Apparently, neither dude ever heard of using tact as a tactic.
In the end, Leslie, aka “Sister Christian”, an obvious tongue-in-cheek reference to her strong faith, was determined to be the weakest link. However, Fei Long is coming apart at the seams. There’s a lot of conflict on that tribe and we think their physical strength will not help them if they can’t come together in other ways.
Zhan Hu capitalized on their increased unity, despite annoyance at Dave’s leadership, to take down the ‘dragon’ in two of the toughest and most physically – and emotionally draining – challenges the series has ever seen.
Next week, we predict that Zhan Hu will win immunity. Reward can go either way. Fei Long will have to get rid of Jean-Robert to get back on track. He’s too much of a morale crusher.
What do you think?
