Paula Looking on top of her game
Paula Abdul takes a lot of heat. The pretty and petite songstress/dancer/reality TV diva has a lot on her plate these days. She’s going to have a starring role and executive produce the live-action Bratz movie, based on those adorable and slutty dolls your daughter plays with. (The film debuts in August 2007.) She’s also got her own reality TV series set to air on Bravo later this year. It’s creatively titled, Hey, Paula.
And…if that weren’t enough, she has to deal with Simon Cowell for long stretches of time on American Idol.
Of course, any tirade Simon can dish out would be comparable - preferable even to the dismal auditions that have been shown on the series’ sixth season thus far. It's got me wondering if we've tapped out all the singing talent in the good old US of A so soon.
Anyway, Paula’s just really, really tired. That’s what some people in her camp have said. Unfortunately, her interviews via satellite with TV stations in Seattle and San Francisco had people saying she must be “on something.” Paula has finally spoken up for herself. She told Jay Leno on The Tonight Show this week that the problem had to do with a ‘communications glitch’.
As she says, “You're looking at one camera, and there are 30 cities talking in your ear… Alabama was in my ear and so was Seattle at the same time.” She admitted that her answers to one city’s questions were broadcast on the other.
See, that explains it.
Update JANUARY 24, 2007: FOX has ordered the removal of Paula's interviews from YouTube. We wonder why.
