Gene Simmons and his family which includes live-in love Shannon Tweed and their two offspring, Nick and Sophie Tweed-Simmons will be back on our TV screens beginning March 25th at 9:00 pm ET with the second season of Gene Simmons Family Jewels.
At the end of last season, Gene and Shannon were going to get his and her face lifts. During the premiere of this season’s journey, cameras will give the audience a birds’ eye view of the couples’ procedures.
Eek!
Simmons told USA Today that what you’ll see is more “like a biology class … more fascinating than gory.” Shannon says that “Plastic surgery was Gene's idea. But I wasn't going to let him look younger than me.”
In addition to the pre-op to post-op and recovery process of the couple, the series will focus on how the Tweed-Simmons’ deal with Nick’s going off to college and Sophie’s becoming a beautiful young lady. Shannon will also try to persuade Gene to have yet another child and to make an honest woman of her after 20 some-odd unmarried years together.
The series averaged 1.3 million viewers last season and is A&E’s highest-rated original series since Dog the Bounty Hunter premiered in 2004. 20 episodes are planned for the second season.
Leslie Greif, Adam Reed and Gene Simmons are the series executive producers and Adam Freeman is the series co-executive producer. Gene Simmons Family Jewels is produced by The Greif Company and the Gene Simmons Company. Robert Sharenow and Didi O’Hearn are the A&E Executive Producers.
