Jeff Probst is at a crossroads. The sexy Survivor host isn’t too sure he wants to continue with his high-profile gig. When asked if he’d sign-on again after his contract expires – after the sixteenth installment next year, he told Canda.com that, “I honestly don’t know.” Probst admits that he’s “at the point in my life where I’m considering, ‘What do I do for me?’ I want to make sure that I push myself.”
Probst has said that Survivor has impacted his life in a significant way. “I have worked harder on myself and invested more time in myself trying to get to know who I am and what I want to be – and it’s a direct result of Survivor.”
The 45 year old Seattle native candidly discusses the possibility of a cold-weather Survivor. He mentions that executive producer Mark Burnett is “leaning towards considering a colder climate.” Perhaps a remote part of Canada?
As for this season, Probst doesn’t pull any punches. He urges people to hang in there. Fiji will improve, despite the fact that the show “has not been as fulfilling because it has been unfair.” Probst believes that the twist has skewed the game in favor of the Moto tribe. He was also upset about the reorganization of tribes that happened several weeks ago, but Burnett won the day.
Is another All-Star season on the horizon for Survivor? Probst doesn’t rule it out, but hopes that they would do it differently this time like perhaps pitting a tribe of All-Stars against a group of new players or putting in individuals who didn’t get much of a chance to succeed the first time around.
Regardless, Probst does say that the dynamics between some of the contestants do get more interesting. He suggests that viewers be on the lookout for the growing friendship between Yau-Man and Earl.
Survivor: Fiji airs on CBS Thursday nights at 8pm ET.
